Truck mounted carpet cleaning machines: Sounds impressive, but not for the homeowner. The only one that benefits are the companies that uses them. These machines do not have the proper suction power necessary to remove all the water, dirt and grime that were washed down into your carpet. Generally, it takes 5 hours or more for the carpet to dry (depending on the technician doing the job) and as the carpet dries all that dirt and grime that wasn’t removed is being wicked back up into the fibers of your carpet. In reality, all they have done is freshen up your carpet. Being the homeowner you have wasted your time and money.

Steam cleaning: No company steam cleans carpet, but it sounds good. Could you imagine someone blowing steam in your house? The proper terminology is called HOT WATER EXTRACTION and this temperature is generally between 150 and 200 degrees and does a great job providing that the equipment has adequate suction pressure to remove the dirt and water.

Rotary brush and scrubbing machines: These machines are the worst but companies still use them. These machines use the principle of deep scrubbing by rotating brushes on your carpet with a cleaning solution. In essence, all they are doing is moving around the dirt and displacing it back into your carpet. Lastly, those rotary brushes are taking years of life out of your carpet.
